The Magic Coat
I had an old coat
Tweed with a collar
It didn’t cost much
A couple of dollars
The pocket broke
Cheap silk, I guess
The coins that were in it
Fell into the rest
I walked for a month
A clink in my step
The coins that had fallen
Jangled and wept
I cut it wide open
And to my surprise
The coins that were in there
Had turned to French fries
